Hello, Readers! In HBO’s limited series “Scenes From a Marriage,” Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain wrestle with the intricacies of love in the first trailer.
Ingmar Bergman, the great Swedish director, wrote and directed the original 1973 miniseries. Scenes from a Marriage earned a lot of praise when it first came out. It was later shortened to a feature-length version and went on to win multiple cinematic awards.
The series is currently being recreated in America. Hagai Levi (The Affair) wrote and directed this show, which is executive produced by Oscar Isaac and Jessica Chastain, who also star in the new version onscreen.
Scenes from a Marriage: Release Date
On September 12, 2021, HBO will air the first episode of the remake at 9 p.m. ET.

What is this about?
Johan and Marianne appear to be in a happy marriage at the start of the show. However, as we learn more about the personalities, it becomes evident that the underpinnings of their connection are rotten and nasty. Marianne finds out that Johan is having an affair with a younger lady, and the two break up. Years of yearning, misery, heartbreak, and passion ensue between the two, who can’t seem to stay away from each other long enough.

As a remake, the American version of the show will most likely follow the same plot as the original. However, there appear to be a few distinctions. The protagonists’ careers have diverged, and it is now Mira, the protagonist’s wife, who starts the initial split.

It’s difficult to top the performances of Liv Ullmann and Erland Josephson, who appeared in Bergman’s original. Fortunately, the new cast of Scenes From a Marriage includes some heavy hitters. Jonathan is played by Oscar Isaac, and Mira is played by Jessica Chastain. Not only had they already worked together in A Most Violent Year, but they were also Juilliard classmates.
The cast also includes Corey Stoll (House of Cards), Sunita Mani (GLOW), Nicole Beharie (Shame), and Tovah Feldshuh.
