Severance Season 2: Release Date, Trailer, and more!

Directed by Ben Stiller, Severance is a science fiction psychological thriller series made for Apple TV+ and premiered on February 18, 2022. The series is all about a technology corporation, Lumon Industries uses a “severance” medical procedure to separate the non-work memories of some of their employees from their work memories. One severed employee, Mark, gradually uncovers a web of conspiracy from both sides of the division.

Stiller is also the executive producer alongside Dan Erickson, Nicholas Weinstock, Jackie Cohn, Mark Friedman, Andrew Colville, Chris Black, and John Cameron. The series received positive reviews from critics and audiences and currently holds an approval rating of 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. Considering the positive response, the makers have renewed the series for a second season.

Severance Plot and Cast

Although the makers have not revealed much about what would happen in Severance Season 2, it will continue from where Season 1 ended.

The basic premise focuses on a sinister technology corporation, Lumon Industries, which uses a “severance” medical procedure to separate the non-work memories of some of their employees from their work memories. One severed employee, Mark, gradually uncovers a web of conspiracy from both sides of the division.

Coming to the cast, the leads of the first season are expected to reprise their roles. This includes Adam Scott, Zach Cherry, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Jen Tullock, Dichen Lachman, Michael Chernus, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, and Patricia Arquette. Since it is a new season, we can expect to see some new faces.

Severance Season 2 Release Date

In Stiller and Erickson’s capable hands, no doubt Season Two will be another thrill ride of sci-fi goodness and corporate intrigue, though it’s still a long way away, with no specified air date. One thing is confirmed, though: unlike Season One, Season Two will clock in at ten episodes.

The second season of Severance could potentially get a release date in 2023, according to Stiller. The plan appears to be to start shooting the show before the end of 2022, edit it down during the first few months of 2023, and then get it released in the second half of the year. That means, if all goes well, the second season of Severance could get a release date in and around June 2023.
