British comedy series Sex Education has created an uproar since its first episode on Netflix and holds one of the ranks in the most viewed shows on the global OTT platform. There is hardly any show that talks about sexual health and sexuality openly. Sex Education proved that the subject is not only about sexual intimacies, but also about knowing one’s body and self-being. The huge fanbase of the show what made the creators renew it for the third season this year, immediately after the release of the second one. Though there hasn’t been any official date released and might get delayed and move to later this year or in 2021. The show got an average rating of 8.3/10, with mostly positive reviews.
The official description of the show on Netflix is as follows, “Insecure Otis has all the answers when it comes to sex advice, thanks to his therapist mom. So rebel Maeve proposes a school sex-therapy clinic.” Otis’s mother is their town’s famous relationship and sex therapist, and an author as well. Otis grew up learning various psychological facts, inspired by his mother. That is what made him their school’s secret teen therapist, making Maeve his business partner. In the second season, his mother was recruited by his school’s principal as the official therapist. This made Otis’s high-school life a bit tough since his peers didn’t see his sex therapist mother in the good light.
All the characters of Sex Education have strong character developments, especially the lead Maeve. Her sturdy take on life, handling without the support of any family relative or parents, and acing her literature works what made the character most likable. On the other hand, the other roles, like that of Otis, Dr.Jean, Eric, Adam, Jackson, Aimee, Ola, Lily, etc grab the spotlights as well, making their dramatic personae visible enough and establishing a significant part in the series.
