Slow Horses: Release Date, Cast and more!

Directed by James Hawes and written by Will Smith, Slow Horses is an upcoming spy thriller television series. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Mick Herron. The show will consist of two sets of six episodes, with conflicting reports as to whether this means two six-episode seasons or one season in two parts.

The first six episodes are reportedly based on Mick Herron’s first book, Slow Horses, with the following six episodes based on the sequel, Dead Lions.

Slow Horses is scheduled to premiere on 1st April 2022 and produced for Apple TV+ by See-Saw Films production company. The executive producers of the show are Iain Canning, Hakan Kousetta, Jamie Laurenson, Gail Mutrux, Emile Sherman, Will Smith, Douglas Urbanski and Graham Yost.

Slow Horses Plot and Cast

After a botched and publicly embarrassing training mission, British MI5 agent River Cartwright is exiled to Slough House, an administrative purgatory for service rejects. Known as slow horses, Cartwright and his fellow employees must endure dull, paper-pushing tasks and their miserable boss, Jackson Lamb, who expects them to quit out of boredom and frustration. Life in Slough House is defined by drudgery until the slow horses become entangled in a dangerous gambit by Regent’s Park.

Slow Horses Release Date

Filming began on November 30, 2020, in England, and continued into February 2021, In July 2021, filming continued in Stroud, Gloucestershire. It was originally intended to film earlier in 2020 but was delayed to the COVID-19 pandemic.

February 2022, the makers of the revealed that the show will premiere on 1st April 2022. It was also revealed that the first season would consist of 6 episodes and that they would all be directed by James Hawes.
