Slow Horses Season 2: Release Date, Trailer and more!

Written by Morwenna Banks, Will Smith, Jonny Stockwood and Mark Denton, Slow Horses is a spy thriller television series based on the 2010 novel of the same name by Mick Herron. The show will consist of two series, made up of six episodes each. The first six episodes are reportedly based on Mick Herron’s first book, Slow Horses, with the following six episodes based on the sequel, Dead Lions.

Smith is also the executive producer alongside Hakan Kousetta, Jamie Laurenson, Gail Mutrux, Emile Sherman, Douglas Urbanski and Graham Yost. The first two episodes of the series premiered on Apple TV+ on April 1, 2022, with the second season scheduled to premiere soon.

Slow Horses Plot and Cast

Slow Horses Season 2 will follow the plot of Dead Lions. Dickie Bow, a one-time low-level informant of Jackson Lamb’s, follows a mysterious character who he recognizes from the old days on a train and then a bus.

Bow ends up dead, apparently of natural causes, but Lamb knows something is up and uses his hopeless team to poke around in long-buried secrets from the Cold War. Being espionage secrets, they naturally don’t stay buried, and soon there’s a very real threat facing the present-day UK.

Talking about the cast, the lead members of the first season would come back to reprise their roles. This includes Jack Lowden as River Cartwright, Gary Oldman as Jackson Lamb, Saskia Reeves as Catherine Standish, Christopher Chung as Roddy Ho, and Dustin Demri-Burns as Min Harper. We would also get to see Rosalind Eleazar as Louisa Guy, Kristin Scott-Thomas as Diana Taverner, Jonathan Pryce as David Cartwright, Freddie Fox as “Spider” Webb and Samuel West as Peter Judd.

New members will also join the cast this season that includes Rade Šerbedžija as former Russian agent Nikolai Kaminsky. Further details are expected to be revealed soon.

Slow Horses Season 2 Release Date

The first season of the series premiered on April 2022 and received positive reviews from critics and audiences. It currently holds an approval rating of 94% on Rotten Tomatoes and has been rated 7.8/10 on IMDb.

On May 7, 2022, Apple TV+ shared a teaser for the brand new episodes with a cryptic reference to the new season coming soon. So while we don’t have an exact release date to add to our calendars, but it should premiere sometime in 2022.
