Splatoon 2 Splatfest: 3rd Anniversary Celebration!

Splatoon is a third-person shooter game series. The first game in the series was released in May 2015. Then its sequel Splatoon 2 was released for Nintendo Switch in July 2017 which was followed by Octo Expansion (Expansion Pack) in June 2018.

Splatoon is still on the top list from the time it has been released in the context of its copies sold and revenue generated. It has sold 15 million copies till now.

Splatoon 2 will organize the Splatfest celebrating its third anniversary. Want to know more about the Splatfest? Here are the details, have a look.

When will Splatoon 2 Splatfest be held?

This event will be held on August 21, 2020. You all still have 10 days and it will last for the usual 48 hours. The event will start at 3 PM PT and 6 PM ET and will end by August 23. But still, this date is now not the exact date confirmed, the official date is yet to be confirmed.

To be a part of the event all you need is to go to the Inkopolis (Terminal) and choose a team by choosing a team. Turf War battles between the Team Chicken and the Team Egg players for 3 categories: Popularity, Normal, and Pro. After the 2 day event, the winners will be announced and the winning team would be awarded a stash of precious Super Sea Snails.

It is also told that two more Splatfest events will be organized but the theme and the date remains unannounced

Can we expect Splatoon 3?

April 2021 is the beginning of the financial year for Nintendo. But to be sure Nintendo would not be there at least not before Splatfest. But for now, there isn’t any official confirmation heard from the developers. Characters like Marie, Pearl, Callie, and Squid Sister will be back in season 3 of Splatoon. Several new modes will also be seen in Splatoon 3. We can expect Splatoon 3 to launch at Mid-Fall 2020.
