Created by Akiva Goldsman, Michael Chabon, Kirsten Beyer and Alex Kurtzman, Star Trek: Picard is a television series streaming on Paramount+. The eighth Star Trek series was launched in 2020 as a part of Kurtzman’s Star Trek Universe.

Patrick Stewart is the executive producer of the show alongside several others and also plays the role of Jean-Luc Picard. The show opened to positive reviews from critics and various tie-in projects were also created.

Even though the plot details have not been clearly revealed, sources say that the second season will shift the narrative to an alternate reality and time travel story about a fascist United Federation Planets. All this will happen because of the new timeline created by Q.

Q will put Picard and humanity on trial again. Season 2 will offer a completely new look at the road not taken. Overall, the questions that were left unanswered in the previous season will be answered on this one.

Talking about the cast, all the major characters from first season including Jeri Ryan as Seven of Nine, Michelle Hurd as Lt. Raffi Musiker, Santiago Cabrera as Cristobal Rios, Allison Pill as Dr. Agnes Jurati, Isa Briones as Soji and Evan Evagora as Elnor.

Orla Brady will also come back as Laris alongside John de Lancie as Q. However, details about any newly added characters are yet to be unveiled.

Star Trek: Picard Season 2 Release Date

Star Trek: Picard Season 2 is scheduled to premiere on March 3, 2022 through Paramount+. It will consist of ten episodes that would stream until May 5, 2022.

Originally known as CBS All Access, the streaming platform’s name was changed to Paramount+ on March 4, 2021 after a 2019 re-merger of CBS and Viacom.

Those who wish to catch the premiere of the upcoming season can purchase a subscription that is available for $4.99 a month or a Premium plan for $9.99 a month. Users can also for an yearly plan that includes $49.99 with commercials and Premium plan for $99.99 without ads.
