Created by Kevin and Dan Hageman for the streaming service Paramount+ and the cable channel Nickelodeon, Star Trek: Prodigy is an American animated television series. The executive producers of the series are Kevin Hageman Dan Hageman, Rod Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Katie Krentz, Aaron Baiers, and more.

Star Trek: Prodigy premiered on Paramount+ on October 28, 2021, and began airing on Nickelodeon on December 17. The first season of 20 episodes will continue from October 27, 2022, and a second season is in production.

Star Trek: Prodigy follows a group of lawless teens as they discover a derelict Starfleet ship and use it to search for adventure, meaning, and salvation. The teens know nothing about the ship they have commandeered – a first in the history of the Star Trek franchise – but over the course of their adventures together they will each be introduced to Starfleet and the ideals it represents.

Season one of Star Trek: Prodigy premiered on Thursday, Oct. 28 with a one-hour episode, exclusively for Paramount+ subscribers in the U.S. New episodes of the first half of season one will continue to roll out weekly on Thursdays through Thursday, Nov. 18. Following a mid-season break, the remaining five episodes of season one’s first half will be available to stream weekly on Thursdays, starting on Thursday, Jan. 6. The 10-episode-long second half of season one will be available on Paramount+ at a later date next year, to be announced.

The Star Trek: Prodigy voice cast includes Kate Mulgrew (Hologram Kathryn Janeway), Brett Gray (Dal), Ella Purnell (Gwyn), Rylee Alazraqui (Rok-Tahk), Angus Imrie (Zero), Jason Mantzoukas (Jankom Pog), Dee Bradley Baker (Murf), John Noble (The Diviner) and Jimmi Simpson (Drednok).

Considering that the Season 1 midseason finale airs on November 18, and the back half of the ten-episode season starts airing on January 6, 2022, The season won’t end until February 2022. We can expect season 3 should be aired in 2023 or 2024.

The makers have officially confirmed anything about the series yet. It is produced by CBS Eye Animation Productions and Nickelodeon Animation Studio in association with Secret Hideout, Roddenberry Entertainment, and Brothers Hageman Productions
