It is the eleventh Star Trek series and was launched in 2022 as part of Kurtzman’s expanded Star Trek Universe. Goldsman, Kurtzman, and Lumet also served as the executive producers of the show alongside Eugene Roddenberry, Trevor Roth, Frank Siracusa, John Weber, Aaron Baiers, Heather Kadin, and Henry Alonso Myers.

The developers have not revealed much about the plot of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2. However, it will continue from where Season 1 ended.
The basic premise follows Captain Christopher Pike and the crew of the starship USS Enterprise in the 23rd century as they explore new worlds throughout the galaxy in the decade before Star Trek: The Original Series. It has a contemporary take on that series’ episodic storytelling and 1960s designs and features the following narration from Mount during each episode’s opening credits.
The lead cast members of Season 1 are expected to reprise their roles. The main cast includes Anson Mount, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia, Babs Olusanmokun, Bruce Horak, and Rebecca Romijn.
