A spin-off from Star Trek: Discovery, it follows Captain Christopher Pike and the crew of the starship USS Enterprise as they explore new worlds throughout the galaxy during the decade before Star Trek: The Original Series.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premiered on Paramount+ on May 5, 2022, and its first 10-episode season is running through July 7. It has received positive reviews from critics for its episodic storytelling approach and cast and has been renewed for a second season.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Plot and Cast

The developers have not revealed much about the plot of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2. However, it will continue from where Season 1 ended.

The basic premise follows Captain Christopher Pike and the crew of the starship USS Enterprise in the 23rd century as they explore new worlds throughout the galaxy in the decade before Star Trek: The Original Series. It has a contemporary take on that series’ episodic storytelling and 1960s designs and features the following narration from Mount during each episode’s opening credits.

The lead cast members of Season 1 are expected to reprise their roles. The main cast includes Anson Mount, Jess Bush, Christina Chong, Celia Rose Gooding, Melissa Navia, Babs Olusanmokun, Bruce Horak, and Rebecca Romijn.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 Release Date

On July 1st, 2022, director and producer Chris Fisher was the first to announce that production had been completed. Given this accelerated schedule, we expect Strange New Worlds season two will air sometime in the first half of 2023.
