Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2: Release Date, Trailer and more!
Created by Akiva Goldsman, Alex Kurtzman, and Jenny Lumet, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is an American television series. It is the 11th Star Trek series and was launched in 2022 as part of Kurtzman’s expanded Star Trek Universe.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds premiered on Paramount+ on May 5, 2022, and its 10-episode first season ran through July 7. It is nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award and several other awards. A second season is in production and is expected to premiere in 2023.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Plot and Cast
Just days after the Season 1 finale, the Strange New Worlds team is already hyping up Season 2. Co-showrunner Akiva Goldsman promises that it will be “bigger and better” than Season One, while Melissa Navia, who plays Lieutenant Erica Ortegas, calls the new season electrifying.
“This particular season we’re filming, Season Two, has been electrified because of the fact we’re filming Season Two, but we’re getting to watch the world experience Season One,” she said. “And so, we’re seeing all that love and that’s informing what we’re doing. It’s just been two seasons of an amazing crew, and an amazing cast.”
We can look to Star Treks’ past for clues. Given that many of the characters go on to appear elsewhere in Star Trek canon, it seems safe to guess that those characters will return for Season 2, including Pike, Spock (Ethan Peck), Number One (Rebecca Romijn), Cadet Uhura (Celia Rose Gooding), Nurse Chapel (Jess Bush), and Dr. M’Benga (Babs Olusanmokun).
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 2 Release Date
Thanks to that early renewal, production on the second season of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds started earlier than you might expect. It’s already been completed.
Given this accelerated schedule, we expect Strange New Worlds season two will air sometime in the first half of 2023. Further details are expected to be revealed soon.
