Star Wars: Squadrons – Release Date, Trailer and Gameplay

Star Wars: Squadrons is an upcoming space fighting game created by Motive Studios and released by Electronic Arts. The story is set after the Jedi gets back.

Fans of Star Wars may not have seen a true space fighting game since the Star Wars Rogue Squadron III in 2003: Rebel Attack. Though, now it seems as if we’re going to see a spiritual sequel to the classic series.

At the event, EA released the first gameplay trailer for the forthcoming Star Wars title, and the video delivered on the expected anticipation along with huge hype heading in. This provides a single-player campaign from a gaming perspective in which you can play as an insurgent or the monarchy. Nonetheless, the real appeal lies in the multiplayer modes.

Release Date

Star Wars: Squadrons will be out on 2 Oct.  It is planning to offer for $39.99. The game will also be cross-play, ensuring you’ll be able to hop in and play with your mates regardless of which computer each of you plays. IGN has also stated that the game will eventually be available on Xbox Series X and PlayStation 5.

Trailer

The game was unveiled on 15 June 2020 with the release of a teaser. It will be available for Windows, PS4, and Xbox One on October 2, 2020, with cross-platform play allowed. The Windows and PS4 models are available in augmented reality using several VR headsets.

Gameplay

The game is set after the Battle of Endor and the second Death Star’s destruction. The story consists of two distinct customizable pilots flying for the Vanguard Squadron of the New Republic and also the Titan Squadron of the Empire. The game serves up to ten teams and pits two sets of pilots against each other. As players gain more experience, they can obtain new guns, helmets, enhancements, and various accessories for the pilot and their aircraft.

All services for online matches are team-based. There is a straightforward five-on-five combat option, but the signature online play mode is more complicated. It’s split into three independent missions with varying objectives, each having its particular approach. Players can join other user’s teams or work against AI.

When you are playing PlayStation 4 on a Mac/PC, you can even move through VR through the whole game. After viewing the trailer around five minutes for all of the swift action and aerial movements, it seems like it could get confusing in VR. The sheer novelty of flying a well-performed straighter with a high-end VR ship still sounds fun.
