Inspired by the Star Wars universe, Star Wars: Visions is an animated anthology series created for the American streaming service Disney+. Jacqui Lopez, James Waugh, Josh Rimes, and Justin Leach are the executive producers of the show.

The first season of the series premiered on September 22, 2021, and received positive reviews from critics and audiences. It currently holds an approval rating of 96% on Rotten Tomatoes and scored 79 out of 100 on Metacritic. Considering the positive response, the makers have renewed the series for a second season.

Star Wars: Visions Plot and Cast

Since Star Wars: Visions is an anthology series, we can’t predict what might happen in Season 2. However, it is expected to maintain the standard of the storyline as it had done in Season 1.

The series is a collection of animated short films presented through the lens of the world’s best anime creators that offers a new, diverse perspective on Star Wars. Created outside of the constraints of the franchise’s traditional canon, the films provide creative freedom to each director and production studio, while maintaining fidelity to the themes and emotional identity of the Star Wars saga.

The cast members for the new season are yet to be confirmed as it is an anthology. The names are expected to be announced soon. The first season had Simu Liu, Karen Fukuhara, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Temuera Morrison, David Harbour, Nichole Sakura, and others in the lead roles.

Star Wars: Visions Season 2 Release Date

The first season of Star Wars: Visions was released in September 2021 and it was later renewed for a second season. Disney has announced that Star Wars: Visions Volume 2 will be coming to Disney+ on May 4,2023.

The new season might consist of nine episodes like the first season. Lucasfilm and Lucasfilm Animation are involved in the show’s production and it is distributed by Disney Platform Distribution.
