Stargirl Confirms The Existence Of The Superhero Who Started The Starman Legacy?

Stargirl is an American drama television series that premiered on the DC Universe. It is based on the DC Comics superhero of the same name. The main story of the series is about a high school student, Courtney Whitmore played by Brec Bassinger. She discovers the cosmic staff and becomes an inspiration for other superheroes to form the Justice Society Of America. The second episode of the series, “S.T.R.I.P.E.” revealed the ‘existence of Ted Knight‘. No details were provided to explain his existence. But the revelation was enough to get us all excited!

Stargirl

Starman (Ted Knight) is a member of the Justice Society Of America. He first appeared in Adventure Comics #61 in 1941. Ted uses a gravity rod which allows him to fly and manipulate energy. He is an astronomer and a great scientist. He developed the rod himself! Ted doesn’t have any natural, superhero abilities. All his superpowers come from his rod. Ted can manipulate some form of stellar radiation through the rod. As the First Starman, he can fly, send outbursts of energy, light and heat. He can create fields and make objects fly. The Cosmic rod also creates a bond between Ted and itself which allows him to summon it when he is separated from it!

What Is The Connection Between Stargirl And Ted Knight?

In the second episode of Stargirl, Pat Dugan reveals that the ‘Cosmic Staff’ was invented by Ted Knight to Courtney. But he doesn’t reveal any other details about Ted to her. In the original comics, it was shown that Ted takes on Sylvester Pemberton as his student. But Sylvester is killed by a zombie, Solomon Grundy in the comics.

But there are chances that the ‘Star-Spangled Kid’ becomes the next Starman in the series. There are speculations that Ted Knight is alive after the second episode of Stargirl. Pat did not reveal Ted’s entire identity to Courtney. Why? Only time will tell. What did you think of the second episode of Stargirl?
