Succession is an American drama television series. Jesse Armstrong created this show. It premiered on June 3, 2018, on HBO. The series follows around the Roy family, the dysfunctional owners of Waystar RoyCo. RoyCo is a global media and hospitality empire. The family is fighting for control of the company amid uncertainty about the health of the family’s patriarch. Brian Cox plays the family’s patriarch. His character is called Logan Roy.

Succession has received an immense amount of critical acclaim. They were mostly for the show’s writing, acting, and production values.  The series won the British Academy Television Award for Best International Programme. It also won the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series – Drama, and the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series.

WHAT IS SUCCESSION ABOUT?

According to Wikipedia, “Succession follows the Roy family, owners of media conglomerate Waystar RoyCo. The family patriarch, Logan Roy (Cox), has experienced a decline in health. His four children – removed oldest son Connor (Ruck), power-hungry Kendall (Strong), irreverent Roman (Culkin), and politically savvy Siobhan (Snook) – all with varying degrees of connection to the company, begin to prepare for a future without their father, and each begins vying for prominence within the company.”

WHAT IS THE CAST FOR SUCCESSION?

In this series, we see Brian Cox as Logan Roy who is the founder of media and entertainment conglomerate Waystar RoyCo. Jeremy Strong depicts the role of Kendall Roy who’s the second son of Logan Roy, from his second marriage. Sarah Snook acts as Siobhan “Shiv” Roy who’s the youngest child and only daughter of Logan Roy also from his second marriage. Kieran Culkin portrays the role of Romulus “Roman” Roy, the third and youngest son of Logan Roy, from his second marriage. We also see Matthew Macfadyen as Tom Wambsgans who is Shiv’s husband and a Waystar executive in this series.

WHEN IS SEASON 3 OF SUCCESSION RELEASING?

The previous seasons of the show always aired in between June-August. This current pandemic situation has put the production on hold. It has also in turn made the filming for this show get delayed. There is no official date for the release of Season 3 as of now. An actor on this show mentioned that they would start filming mid November so we can expect the show to air sometime by late 2021.
