Superintelligence is an upcoming American comedy film about the struggle that humanity faces with artificial intelligence. Melissa McCarthy and her real life husband Ben Falcone star in this comedy about a seemingly regular couple who experience what at first seems outlandish and crazy, but later turns into a struggle to save humanity.

Ben Falcone directed the film while Steve Mallory wrote the screenplay. Ben Falcone, Melissa McCarthy, and Rob Cowan produced the film while Warner Bros. Pictures, New Line Cinema, and On The Day Productions served as the production companies for the film. HBO Max owns the distribution rights for the film.

Superintelligence: Plot and Cast

In this fourth movie collaboration between real life couple Melissa McCarthy and Ben Falcone, we find a regular woman named Carol Peters thinking nothing special ever happens to her. She goes around living a completely normal life with a normal family, until one day, when she experiences her electronics talking back to her.

And it isn’t even a pleasant “Hello, how do you do?” or a helpful “Good morning, it’s time for breakfast and you’re getting late for work!” It is a sarcastic mean little voice that keeps following her and seems to have infected her TV, phone and her microwave.

At first she thinks someone is playing a prank on her. Then she thinks her own mind is the one playing pranks on her. But the answer is actually saner than that (no, not really, though). The world’s first superintelligence has been watching her and deeming whether humanity is fit to be left alive when it takes over. Now, it is up to very normal Carol to show the glorious multitudes that people contain.

Melissa McCarthy plays Carol Peters while James Corden voices the superintelligence.
