Superstore Season 6: Release Date, Plot and Updates!

The crazy ‘Cloud 9’ employees are back with their shenanigans for the sixth season which is going to premiere on October 22, 2020 (the season was renewed in February 2020). The single-camera sitcom, Superstore has been rolling since November 30, 2015, and let’s just say, they had been rocking too since time eternal. The series was created by Justin Spitzer, who served as an executive producer for four seasons. Protagonists America Ferrera and Ben Feldman also played the role of executive producers. The show is produced by Universal Television, Spitzer Holding Company, and The District. Superstore received critical and mixed reviews, and many do say that the talented casts could not show off their potential on the show due to the average script writing. But with time, the show improved and had been renewing since then.

The workplace comedy is basically about a unique family of employees at a supersized megastore. Superstore centers around Amy who was promoted to be the store manager and is the glue holding the place together, and Jonah, a dreamer determined to prove work doesn’t have to be boring. Their fellow associates include the sardonic Garrett, the sweet and clueless Cheyenne, and the perpetually dismissed Sandra. Also on the team are Glenn, who stepped down as manager in an attempt to have more family time, and Dina, the aggressive assistant manager who enforces Cloud 9 policy with an iron fist. Superstore is engaging and light-hearted and uses relatable pranks, frolics, and comedy in a familiar setting to explore some of the deep divisions, issues, and realities in modern American society.

Superstore stars America Ferrera, Ben Feldman, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Nico Santos, Nichole Bloom, Mark McKinney, and Kaliko Kauahi. The casts are extremely strong comedians and deliver their lines each with a unique sense of perspective. As said before, the writing has moments of weakness but at other times is very strong, and the scenes and situations largely feel unique. The characters, humor, social poignancy, and general enjoyability of Superstore what make the show gain such a huge fanbase and viewership.
