Surface: Release Date, Cast and more!

Created by Veronica West, Surface is an upcoming psychological thriller miniseries for Apple TV+. West is also the executive producer alongside Sam Miller, Lauren Neustadter, and Reese Witherspoon.

The series is about a woman, who tries to piece together her memories leading up to a suicide attempt. The series is all set to premiere soon on Apple TV+.

Surface Plot and Cast

Surface follows Sophie (Gugu Mbatha-Raw), who’s suffering from extreme memory loss as a result of a traumatic head injury. She fell from the deck of a ferry in San Francisco and has been informed she tried to commit suicide.

But the facts, as she has been told them, make little sense to Sophie. As she tries to piece together her past she starts to question if those around her are keeping her own secrets from her. And when she uncovers an unexpected love triangle, she finds herself on a voyage of self-discovery.

Coming to cast, it includes Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Sophie, Oliver Jackson-Cohen as James, Stephan James as Baden, and Ari Graynor as Caroline. We will also get to see Marianne Jean-Baptiste as Hannah, François Arnaud as Harrison, and Millie Brady as Eliza.

Surface Release Date

Filming for the series had commenced by July 1, 2021, in Vancouver. The series is scheduled to be released on July 29, 2022, with the first three episodes available immediately and the rest debuting on a weekly basis.

Directed by Sam Miller, it will be an 8-part series. It is produced by Apple Studios and Hello Sunshine, and further details shall be revealed soon.
