Created by Charlie Parsons, Survivor is an American version of the international Survivor reality competition television franchise. It is derived from the Swedish television series Expedition Robinson which premiered in 1997. The American series premiered on May 31, 2000, on CBS and is hosted by Jeff Probst, who is also an executive producer along with Mark Burnett and the original creator, Parsons.
The American series has been very successful. From the 2000–01 through the 2005–06 television seasons, its first eleven seasons were rated among the top ten most-watched shows. In 2007, the series was included in Time magazine’s list of the 100 greatest TV shows of all time. In 2013, TV Guide ranked it at #39 on its “60 Best Series of All Time” list. The makers have renewed the series for a new season which will be released soon.

Survivor Plot and Cast
The basic format of the show has 18 contestants who have to face each other and win the prize of $1 million. They are tasked of spending 26 days on a desert island and they have to participate in physical and mental challenges alongside betrayals from fellow competitors.
While there have been no formal announcements about the cast of Survivor season 45, there’s one cast member who is confirmed to be on the series. During Survivor season 44, a contestant named Bruce Perreault had to be medically evacuated from the competition due to a head injury. So, Bruce was invited back to join the game for a second time on Survivor season 45. Other than Bruce, no other contestants have been announced.
