Swagger Season 2: Release Date, Cast and more!

Created by Reggie Rock Bythewood, Swagger is a sports drama series made for Apple TV+. The series is loosely inspired by the experiences of current NBA player Kevin Durant, and it premiered on October 29, 2021.

Bythewood is also the executive producer alongside Kevin Durant, Brian Grazer, Rich Kleiman and Samantha Corbin-Miller. The series received positive reviews from critics. It currently holds an approval rating of 84% on Rotten Tomatoes and considering the positive response, the makers have renewed the series for a second season, which is scheduled to premiere soon.

Swagger Plot and Cast

The makers have not revealed anything about what would happen in Swagger Season 2. However, it will definitely continue from where the first season ended. The show is inspired by the life of Durant and focuses on the trials and tribulations that someone faces in the world of youth basketball with the ambitions of reaching the professional level.

The basic premise follows Jace Carson, a star player that is among the best basketball players in the country. To achieve his dream of reaching the NBA, Jace joins a training program developed by Ike, a former star player turned youth basketball coach. The characters build a close bond that goes beyond the sport of basketball as Carson deals with problems on and off the court, while coming face to face with a world that judges people by skin color.

Coming to the cast, we should get to see O’Shea Jackson Jr., Isaiah Hill, Shinelle Azoroh, Tessa Ferrer, Quvenzhane Wallis, Caleel Harris, James Bingham, Solomon Irama, Ozie Nzeribe, Jayson Rivera and Tristan Wilds in the lead roles.

Swagger Season 2 Release Date

Deadline Hollywood reported that filming of the series would occur in October 2019 and in April 2021, filming wrapped for the series. In February 2020, filming was delayed due to recasting, and was then delayed even further due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Considering everything, the second season should premiere by the end of 2022. The new season is expected to have ten episodes like the first season. The series is produced by Undisputed Cinema, Thirty Five Ventures, Imagine Television and CBS Studios.
