The series premiered on Netflix on May 19, 2020. In July 2020, the series was renewed for a second season. The 10-episode second season premiered on February 4, 2022. In May 2022, the series was renewed for a third season.

Sheryl J. Anderson, in an interview with TVLine, hinted at the possible return of Victoria and other ‘troublemakers’. Not only that but when in conversation with Glamour, she said, “I hope the main question that everybody has at the end of season two is: Are they going to get a season three?”

Sweet Magnolias Season 3’s lead cast is expected to be the same as before, with stars Brooke Elliott, JoAnna Garcia Swisher, and Heather Headley in their respective roles.
