Taboo is a BBC television drama series that aired on BBC One in the UK and on FX in the US in 2017. It is produced by Scott Free London and Hardy Son & Baker. A second series was announced in March 2017. The series was created by Steven Knight, Tom Hardy, and his father Chips Hardy and it was based on a story written by the father-son duo.
When Can We Expect Season 2?
Season 2 of Taboo can be expected in late 2020 or 2021. This delay is because of the busy schedules of Tom Hardy and Steven Knight. Knight and Hardy were shooting for Peaky Blinders and Venom respectively. But the wait for season 2 could extend up to late 2021 because of the global pandemic!

The main cast which includes Tom Hardy as James Delaney, David Hayman as Brace, Stephen Graham as Atticus, Mark Gatiss as Prince George, Leo Bill as Benjamin Wilton, Jessie Buckley as Lorna Delaney, Edward Hogg as Michael Godfrey, Michael Kelly as Edgar Dumbarton, Tom Hollander as Dr. George Chomondeley, Jonathan Pryce as Sir Stuart Strange, Jason Watkins as Solomon Coop and Nicholas Woodeson as Robert. There is not much information on the other cast members.
Story Till Now
Taboo is set in 1814 and it begins with James Delaney returning to England after twelve years in Africa with fourteen stolen diamonds, after the death of his father. The series shows the negative and dark side of London in the 19th century. It shows political and business corruption, gangs, the misery of the working class, and the wealth of the rich. The series has received many positive reviews with several appreciations for Hardy’s acting, presentation, and pacing!

The climax episode of season one is filled with drama! James was framed for Winter’s murder by the East India Company. Then James escapes from prison with Strange’s help. Then James, Atticus, Michael, Lorna and their associates plan to escape by a ship arranged by Strange. The final scene ends with a shoot-out by the sea and then James and his associates set sail for America, discrediting the East India Company.
From then on, fans have been eagerly waiting for the release of the next season of Taboo. Let’s just hope that the wait from now isn’t that long!
