Ted Lasso is an American sports comedy series that appears on Apple TV+ and first premiered on August 14, 2020. It is one of the newest TV shows that came during the COVID-19 era and has been highly lauded so far, even by non-sports fans who enjoyed it just as much. Has it been renewed for a next season? Is it worth watching? Let us find out!
Ted Lasso: Plot and Cast
Ted Lasso is a comedy show about an American college football coach named Ted Lasso, played by Jason Sudeikis, who is recruited to coach a professional English soccer team, AFC Richmond. Lasso has absolutely no experience with soccer and the mistake seems to have been because the British refer to soccer as football, as does most of the world except for America. But Lasso manages to turn things around and take the mediocre football team to heights by making his coaching process about team building, so all is well in the end.
Other cast members include Hannah Waddingham as Rebecca Welton, who is the new owner of the soccer team, AFC Richmond; Brendan Hunt as Coach Beard, a friend of Lasso; Brett Goldstein as Roy Kent who used to be a soccer player; Phil Dunster as Jamie Tartt, one of Lasso’s students; and Juno Temple as Keeley Jones, a model who is the girlfriend of Jamie Tartt.
Ted Lasso Season 2: Release Date and Updates
Currently, Apple TV+ is still streaming the first season of Ted Lasso, and has released only four episodes so far. The season will be fully released by the end of September or early October. Even though it is currently in an early stage, Ted Lasso was renewed for a second season just five days after its premiere on Apple TV+. The second season will also have ten episodes like the first, and will be released in 2021.
