Tehran is an Israeli espionage thriller series produced for Israeli public channel Kan 11. The series has been created by Moshe Zonder, written by Moshe Zonder, and Onri Shenhar and Daniel Syrkin is in the director’s seat. The series is based on the Israeli-Iranian conflict. The series initially premiered on 22nd June 2020 and internationally on 25th September on Apple TV+. The series was renewed by Apple TV+ for a second season on 26th January 2021. The first season had eight episodes it is being distributed by Cineflix and Apple TV+.

The lead roles in Tehran are being played by Niv Sultan, Shaun Toub, Navid Negahban, Liraz Charhi, Menashe Noy, Shervin Alenabi, Sogasnd Sara Fakheri, Qais Khan, and Moe Bar-El. The series has received decent feedback from critics and has an approval rating of 93% on Rotten Tomatoes and has scored 72 out of 100 on Metacritic.

Release Date of Tehran Season 2

Although Tehran has been renewed for a second season, the makers have not yet announced a release date of Season 2. Productions of many shows and movies have been postponed because of the Covid-19 and probably, this show might be going through the same. For now, you can expect Tehran Season 2 sometime in 2021.

Cast of Tehran Season 2

The lead characters of the show include Niv Sultan as the Mossad agent Tamar, Shaun Toub as Faraz Kamali, a revolutionary guard who investigates Tamar, and Navid Negahban playing the role of Masoud Tabrizi. Other roles are being played by Shervin Alenabi, Liraz Charhi, and Menashe Noy. For now, it can be said that all these characters will return in Tehran Season 2.

Plot of Tehran Season 2

Details about the plot of Tehran Season 2 have not been revealed yet but it will surely continue from where the first season ended. The main plot of the series focuses on Tamar, a Mossad agent who goes on an undercover mission in Tehran, which is the capital city of Iran.
