The grappling developer OtherSide Entertainment has, at last, come to blows after passing the publishing rights to Tencent Holdings Ltd. Tencent will officially be taking over System Shock 3 and most probably the upcoming seasons of the same. OtherSide Entertainment has given official consent by uploading a tweet. It is definitely a piece of good news as the struggling game could indeed heave a sigh of relief.
Otherside Entertainment tweeted, “As a smaller Indie studio, it had been challenging for us to carry the project on our own. We believe Tencent’s deep capabilities and expertise as a leading game company will bring the franchise to new heights.”

Reason for the Control Shift
The rights to develop System Shock 3 was previously earned by OtherSide entertainment from NightDive Studios. Following that, the game faced a lot of difficulties and struggles to overcome. That inevitably delayed the release of the next season of the game. Also, the game’s development had to eventually stop in the middle because of the financial crisis that hit the studio.
Now that Tencent is successfully taking forward the franchise, we can anticipate a good remake of System Shock 3. Also, simultaneously, it has been reported that NightDive is also working on the remake of the game. This news is making me assume that though the present control lies with Tencent, the future of the game is still unpredictable. This part of the passing control is a bit confusing not known.
One of the underrated publishers Tencent is a conglomerate that invests its funds in entertainment and gaming. And the unknown fact about this organization is that they have the full ownership of Riot Games, around 40% ownership of Epic Games that, has been successfully running the game Fortnite, a 5% ownership of Activision and Ubisoft each. With such a wide level of interest, taking control of System Shock 3 will definitely be a milestone for Tencent. Tencent has hired staff to achieve triple-A in gaming and also make profits by investing in mobile games. Now that System Shock seems to be a part of the plan, the gamers are excited to see the creative remake by Tencent.
