Created by Leslye Headland, The Acolyte is an upcoming American television series. The series is part of the Star Wars franchise, which is set at the end of the High Republic era before the events of the main Star Wars films.
Headland aimed to work on the Star Wars franchise by 2019 and started to plan for a new show by April 2020. The title was revealed in December and the filming process started in October 2022. The filming ended in June 2023.

Detailed information about the storyline for the upcoming show remains unknown. Meanwhile, one thing is confirmed for now the series will be of the mystery-thriller genre and a part of the Star Wars universe. But it can be stated that like the rest of the installments in the Star Wars franchise, this one will also feature a dark side of the Force, leading to many problems.
Headland said that she spoke about the series to Kathleen Kennedy, the president of LucasFilm at the 2023 Star Wars Celebration. She said that the series will speak of a time across the galaxy when there were many bad guys and described them as underdogs. The title of the series is already hinting towards the dark side of the show and it is set in the same Star Wars canon. The Jedi are popular for taking padawans under the wing and the Sith equivalent is known as acolyte.
The Acolyte Release Date And Cast
The official release date of this upcoming series is not confirmed yet but it is sure that the series will be released sometime in 2024. The makers have also confirmed that the series will have eight episodes.
