TNT network original The Alienist is an American drama series which is based on the novel of the same name. The show and the book are based in the 19th century. The genre of the show is a culmination of crime, thriller and drama. The show has been able to very well for itself. It has received a rating of 7.7/10 from IMDb and has been able to garner a large viewership for itself.

The plot of the show:

The show’s story is extremely dark and was loved by individuals who love reading and watching shows based on brutal crime. The show follows the death of young boys in a grotesque manner. These murders shake the core of the city of New York. This called for the NYPD department to hire a detective who thinks from the perspective of a psychopath and sociopath. The show has comprised of an in-depth and very detailed description of the mind of a killer. The Alienist was able to rightly target the bullseyes. The creators were able to materialise the book into the tv series and did a phenomenal job with it.

Trailer and Release Date:

The season one of the show aired in 2018 on TNT network. It also subsequently aired on Netflix. The season two of the show released on 19th July 2020. It has currently eight episodes. However, it is speculated that the season will have a total of 10 episodes. The show right now has 18 episodes. Each episode with a runtime of 42-53 minutes. There has been no confirmation about season 3 by TNT network yet!
