Created by Ben Chanan, The Capture is a British mystery crime drama television series from BBC One. Chanan is also the executive producer alongside Rosie Alison, Tom Coan, David Heyman, Ben Irving and Tom Winchester.

The first season premiered on September 3, 2019. In June 2020 BBC One announced that a second series had been commissioned. The show has received positive reviews from critics and currently holds a 92% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

So, when is the second season releasing? Who will play the lead roles? What is the plot? Keep reading to know further details.

The Capture Season 2 Release Date

The release date of the second season has not been confirmed yet by the makers. Since it’s been almost two years since the release of Season 1, we can expect it to release sometime in 2022.

The upcoming season is expected to have six episodes like the first season. Any other details and changes would be announced in the next few months.

The Capture Season 2 Plot and Cast

The second season might continue to showcase the malpractices of the Correction program. Now that Carey is a part of the process, she might try to expose the truth of the Secret Services and reveal to the world how they doctor the CCTV footage to nail the suspects they believe are guilty when the original footage is deemed inadmissible in the court.

It is also possible that Carey might actually begin to trust the rationale behind the whole process and band together with Hart and Garland to put more criminals in prison. Well, my money is on the first scenario but however it turns out, we are sure it is going to blow our minds.

Now talking about the cast, we might get to see Holliday Grainger as DI Rachel Carey, Callum Turner as Lance Corporal Shaun Emery, Ralph Ineson as DCI Alec Boyd, Barry Ward as Charlie Hall, and Laura Haddock as Hannah Roberts.

Others who might reprise their roles include Sophia Brown as Karen, Famke Janssen as Jessica Mallory, Ginny Holder as DS Nadia Latif, Ron Perlman as CIA Chief Frank Napier, and Lia Williams as DSU Gemma Garland.
