The Capture Season 2: Release Date, Trailer and more!

Written and directed by Ben Chanan, The Capture is a mystery crime-drama series made for Peacock and BBC One. Chanan is also the executive producer alongside Rosie Alison, Tom Coan, David Heyman, Ben Irving and Tom Winchester.

The first season of the series premiered on September 3, 2019 and received positive reviews from critics and audiences. It currently holds an approval rating of 92% on Rotten Tomatoes and considering the positive response, the makers have renewed the series for a second season.

The Capture Plot and Cast

The makers have not revealed detailed information on what would happen in The Capture Season 2. However, it will definitely continue from where the first season ended.

The basic premise of the show follows former United Kingdom Special Forces Lance Corporal Shaun Emery who after being acquitted of a war crime in Afghanistan, finds himself being accused of kidnapping and murder of his barrister Hannah Roberts, backed by the CCTV evidence.

While Emery works to prove himself innocent, fast-tracked Detective Inspector Rachel Carey of Homicide and Serious Crime Command starts to uncover a complex conspiracy surrounding Emery, calling into question the validity of the footage.

Talking about the cast, the leads of Season 1 are expected to reprise their roles. This includes Holliday Grainger, Callum Turner, Cavan Clerkin, Ben Miles, Paul Ritter, Sophia Brown and Famke Janssen. We should also get to see Ginny Holder, Ron Perlman, Lia Williams, Ralph Ineson, Barry Ward, Laura Haddock, Nigel Lindsay, Tommy McDonnell, Alan Williams and Daisy Waterstone.

The Capture Season 2 Release Date

The first season of The Capture was released in 2019 and it was renewed for a second season in June 2020. It’s been a long time since the renewal and considering that, the second season should premiere sometime in 2022.

The new season might consist of six episodes like the first season. The show is produced by BBC Studios, Heyday Television and NBCUniversal International Studios.
