Created by Lena Waithe, The Chi is an American drama television series. The show is about life in a neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago. The pilot was directed by Rick Famuyiwa. The series has received a positive response from the audience and has been rated 7.4 out of 10 on IMDb.
Waithe is also the executive producer alongside Common, Elwood Reid, Aaron Kaplan, Rick Famuyiwa, Ayanna Floyd Davis, Justin Hillian, Jet Wilkinson, Shelby Stone and Derek Dudley. It premiered on Showtime on January 7, 2018 and ran for three more seasons. It was renewed for a fifth season in August 2021.

While interacting with the fans, the creator Waithe did not reveal much about the plot of the upcoming season. There’s a justification waiting for the fans about Tiff and Emmett’s confrontation. There has a lot of space for Christian and Kiesha’s relationship as well. Season 5 would also work on improving the community protection programme.

The fourth season of The Chi premiered in May 2021 and it was immediately renewed for a fifth season. The makers have officially announced that the fifth season is scheduled to premiere on June 24, 2022.
There is no confirmation about the number of episodes in the fifth season of The Chi. All four seasons of the series The Chi include ten episodes each and so, the new season might consist of ten episodes.
