The Circle Season 5: Release Date, Cast and more!

Produced by Studio Lambert and Motion Content Group, The Circle is a reality competition series made for Netflix. Shane Byrne, Tim Harcourt, Stephen Lambert, Daisy Lilley, Susy Price, Chet Fenster, Richard Foster and Toni Ireland are the executive producers of the show.

The first season of the show premiered on January 1, 2020 followed by the second season on April 14, 2021. The third season of the series was released on September 8, 2021 and the fourth is scheduled to be released on May 4, 2022. The show has been already renewed for the second season which is scheduled to premiere soon on Netflix.

The Circle Format and Cast

In The Circle, the players move to separate apartments in the same building. They are kept isolated from the outside world and each other and they communicate with each other through text on a social media application that provides the ability to portray themselves in any way they choose.

Players can choose to present themselves as a different personality to other players, a tactic also known as catfishing. Each contestant needs to rate all others from first to last place and their average ratings are revealed to the entire group from highest to the lowest. The highest rated ones become influencers and the others are at the risk of being eliminated.

There are twists in the blocking process that includes the lowest rated players being instantly blocked, the identity of the influencers being a secret or several players being blocked at once. Blocked players have to pack up and leave the apartments immediately, but are given the chance to meet and converse with one active player of their choosing-in person. The day after blocking, a video message is shown to the other players to reveal if the blocked player was real or a catfish.

Michelle Buteau is expected to come back in the fifth season as the presenter and further details about the new season is yet to be revealed by the makers.

The Circle Season 5 Release Date

The Circle was renewed for a fourth and fifth seasons in August 2021. The fourth season is releasing on May 2022 and considering that, the fifth season should premiere sometime in 2022.

The new season might consist of 12 or 13 episodes like the first four seasons. The rest of the information should be disclosed once Season 4 premieres on Netflix.
