Directed by Jason Winer, The Clauses is an upcoming American Christmas comedy miniseries based on The Santa Clause film series. It serves as a continuation to The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006), and stars Tim Allen and Elizabeth Mitchell reprising their roles from the film series.
The series is set to begin filming in March 2022 in Los Angeles. Nautilus is produced for Disney+. Jack Burditt will serve as showrunner and executive producer alongside Tim Allen, Richard Baker, Kevin Hench, Rick Messina and Jason Winer.

The Clauses Plot and Cast
Scott Calvin is on the brink of his 65th birthday and realizing that he can’t be Santa forever,” the logline reads. “He’s starting to lose a step in his Santa duties, and more importantly, he’s got a family who could benefit from a life in the normal world, especially his two kids who have grown up at the Pole.”
Amid all of life’s pressures, Scott will set out to find a “suitable replacement Santa” while preparing his loved ones for a “new adventure in a life south of the pole.”
The Clauses’ cast includes Tim Allen as Scott Calvin / Santa Claus, Elizabeth Mitchell as Carol Calvin / Mrs Claus, Kal Penn as Simon Choksi- A game inventor, product developer, and single father, he has aspirations to become the next Jeff Bezos. But “all that changes” after he visits the North Pole.
The Clauses Release Date
The makers have not yet revealed a release date for The Clauses. But as of now, production is set to begin in March 2022. However, fans can probably expect the series to arrive towards the end of the year to help ring in Christmas.
