The Cleaning Lady, the widely popular crime drama series, is returning to screens with its second season. Developed by Miranda Kwok, the American television series is based on La chica que limpia (2017), the infamous Argentinian TV series. Alongside Kwok, the executive producers of The Cleaning Lady include Rose Marie Vega, Paola Suárez, Shay Mitchell, David Dean Portelli, Michael Offer, and Melissa Carter. The Cleaning Lady Season 2: Plot and Cast

The general premise of the series follows the life of Thony, a Cambodian doctor, who visits the US for her ailing son’s medical treatment. Her son, Luca, is suffering from a fatal immunodeficiency disorder. Thony is all on her own to save her son, as her husband, Marco, is addicted to gambling, and thus, does not get a visa. Once a successful doctor now becomes an undocumented worker as Thony, along with her sister-in-law, Fiona, in Las Vegas is giving it up all to arrange for a donor whose bone marrow would match Lucas’s. Soon after, due to the failure of the system, Thony is forced to hide. As she refuses to get marginalized, she comes across Arman Morales, a lieutenant of a powerful crime syndicate. She takes up the role of a cleaning lady for their deeds. Maintaining a double identity and dodging the law, Thony does whatever it takes to cure Lucas even if it calls for the sacrifice of her own soul
