The Conners is a sitcom television series on ABC. The series is created by Matt Williams, and is a spin-off of the long-running sitcom Roseanne. The series is produced by Werner Entertainment and developed for television by Bruce Helford, Bruce Rasmussen, and Dave Caplan. The Conners premiered on ABC in October 2018. A second season of The Conners was ordered in March, 2019, consisting of 13 episodes, and scheduled to premiere in September later that year. Seven more episodes were ordered in May, 2019, taking the total number of episodes in season 2 of The Conners to 20.

The Conners was renewed for a third season in May 2020.

Production on the third season began in August 2020. Showrunner Bruce Helford has reflected on how they plan to inculcate the presidential elections and the COVID-19 pandemic into the recent season. The season has been shot under rigid protocols to protect the cast and crew from the virus, and that will be reflected in the show as well. This includes Mark taking people’s temperatures when they’re coming home, and the characters wearing masks when they’re at their workplaces. Helford also said this about the reasons behind doing all this on the upcoming season-

“It just seemed natural that we would be in the middle of this and do it. I know there probably aren’t a lot of shows that will be reflecting what’s going on, but we felt an obligation to our viewers to stay relevant and to show [a family] that knows what it’s like.”

Season 3 of The Conners is set to premiere on October 21, 2020 on ABC.
