Created byPeter Morgan, The Crown is a historical drama television series about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. Morgan developed it from his drama film The Queen (2006) and especially his stage play The Audience (2013). Morgan also served as executive producer of the show along with Stephen Daldry, Andy Harries, Philip Martin, Suzanne Mackie, Matthew Byam Shaw, Robert Fox, Tanya Seghatchian, and Nina Wolarsky, Allie Goss and Benjamin Caron.

The series’s first two episodes were released in the United Kingdom on 1 November 2016. The first season was released worldwide in its entirety on 4 November 2016. Followed by, the second on 8 December 2017, the third on 17 November 2019, and the fourth on 15 November 2020. The fifth season is anticipated in November 2022.

The Crown Plot and Cast

The Crown Season 6 is expected to portray royal events from the mid-to-late 1990s to the early 2000s. Each previous instalment of The Crown has covered roughly a decade. Netflix hasn’t released any official information regarding the plot for Season 6, but we can speculate based on key events in Queen Elizabeth II’s reign during that period.

We would expect The Crown Season 6 to explore events that took place after the tragic death of Diana, Princess of Wales in 1997. There could, however, be some changes among the younger members of the cast between Seasons 5 and 6.

The royal princes, for instance, will be teenagers in Season 5 but adults by the time Season 6 ends. And one now familiar face won’t make her first appearance until The Crown is almost over.

The Crown Season 6 Release Date

Netflix hasn’t confirmed the release date for The Crown season 6, but judging by the release dates of previous seasons, we predict it will land on Netflix in November 2023.

The good news is that Season 6 is definitely in the works, and filming is set to start in August 2022. Further details are expected to be revealed in the next few months.
