The Cuphead Show! Season 1 Part 2: Release Date, Cast and more!

Developed by Dave Wasson, The Cuphead Show! is an animated musical slapstick streaming television series. It is based on the 2017 Canadian video game Cuphead by Studio MDHR. Chad and Jared Moldenhauer, the creators of Cuphead, serve as executive producers, along with Wasson and CJ Kettler from King Features Syndicate, and Cosmo Segurson serving as co-executive producer.

The series was released worldwide on February 18, 2022, and received generally positive reviews. Similar to the game it is based on, many critics praised the visuals, as well as the humor and tone. Some critics thought it lacked substance. The second half of the first season is set to be released on August 19, 2022.

The Cuphead Show! Plot and Cast

The story of the series is a little different from that of the video game. While Cuphead still owes his soul to the Devil, unlike the game where he and Mugman fight against the Devil’s other debtors to pay their debt, instead of giving up their souls, in the show it is different. The Devil doesn’t seem willing to simply forget about Cuphead’s debt. This could be the premise of Season 2 where the brothers could look for a solution to Cuphead’s soul debt.

In the first season, they have also just met Ms Chalice because of whom the brother ended up behind bars. She will be making her debut as a playable character in the upcoming expansion Cuphead: The Delicious Last Course. She will probably have a bigger role in the next set of episodes.

The characters returning for sure include Tru Valentino as Cuphead, Frank Todaro as Mugman, Joe Hanna as Elder Kettle, Luke Millington-Drake as the Devil, and Grey Griffin as Ms Chalice. Cosmo Segurson as Porkrind, and Wayne Brady as King Dice, may also be returning.

The Cuphead Show! Season 1 Part 2 Release Date

The first half of Season 1 was released on February 18, 2022, and the second half of the season has been confirmed to release on June 24, 2022.

The first part consisted of twelve episodes. Netflix ordered 36 more episodes to be produced, to be released as three separate groups of episodes, for a total of 48. So, it is officially confirmed that the second half of Season 1 will also consist of twelve episodes.
