The Cuphead Show is an animated web television series created by Chad and Jared Moldenhauer for Netflix and produced by StudioMDHR and King Features Syndicate. It is based on the video game Cuphead.
The game was inspired by the rubber hose style of animation used in cartoons of the 1930s, such as the work of Fleischer Studios and Walt Disney Animation Studios, and sought to emulate their subversive and surrealist qualities.
Follow the misadventures of the fearless Cuphead and his cautious but persuadable brother Mugman in this animated series based on the hit video game.
Cuphead is a lovable scamp and he also happens to have a cup for ahead,” Dave Wasson, executive producer, says during the first look. Wasson was one of the key creative forces behind early instalments of the newer Mickey Mouse cartoons (that you can watch on Disney+) and helped develop the wonderful Disney Channel series Star vs. the Forces of Evil(also on Disney+). He’s an unsung hero of modern animation and has exactly the right sensibilities to bring Cuphead to convincing life.
