The English: Release Date, Plot and more!

Written and directed by Hugo Blick, The English is an upcoming internationally co-produced Western drama television miniseries. It will premiere in the United States on Amazon Prime Video, and in the United Kingdom on BBC One.

Principal photography began in Spain in May 2021. The executive producers of the show are Greg Brenman, Hugo Blick, Emily Blunt and Mona Qureshi.

The English Plot and Cast

The story follows an Englishwoman who arrives in the West in 1890 looking for revenge on the man she sees as responsible for the death of her son and meets an ex-cavalry scout and member of the Pawnee Nation by birth with whom she discovers a possible shared history.

The main casts includes Emily Blunt as Cornelia Locke, Chaske Spencer as Eli Whipp, Rafe Spall, Tom Hughes, Stephen Rea, Valerie Pachner, Toby Jones, Ciaran Hinds, Malcolm Storry, Steve Wall, Nichola, McAuliffe, Sule Rimi, Cristian Solimeno, Nakota Kennedy and Miguel Alvarez as Timothy Flynn.

The English Release Date

An exact release date for the upcoming drama is yet to be confirmed. However, a recent statement confirmed that The English are expected to air sometime in 2022. Upon its release, the series will be available to watch on BBC One, and BBC iPlayer in the UK, and available to stream on Amazon Prime in the U.S.

The number of episodes for the all new show has not been disclosed yet by the makers. Since it is a miniseries, it is expected to have six to eight episodes. Further details related to the show should be announced by the developers in the next few months.
