Developed by Greg Berlanti, The Flash is a superhero television series that airs on The CW. It has been also streaming on Amazon Prime Video since 2021.
It was initially envisioned as a backdoor pilot, the positive response towards Grant Gustin following his appearance on Arrow led the executives to develop a full pilot to use more budget and explore more about Barry Allen’s world.
The series opened to positive reviews from critics and audiences and was also a recipient of the People’s Choice Award for Favorite New TV Drama in 2014. Following the response to eight seasons in the last few years, it has been renewed for a ninth season in January 2022.
So, when is the ninth season releasing? Who is there in the lead roles? What is the plot? Keep reading further to know more details.
The Flash Season 9: Release Date and Plot
Grant Gustin was in talks with The CW to reprise his role as The Flash in a new season. Deadline reported that his new contract would be a big one and reportedly earn $200,000 for each episode.
However, the makers have not yet confirmed a release date for the 9th season. Since the show has been renewed last month, it is highly unlikely that we would get to see Season 9 in 2022. So, the next season will probably premiere sometime in 2023.
Although the plot details of the upcoming season has not been revealed, it will continue from where Season 8 ended. Barry’s attempts to stop Armageddon may have lead to issues in his world’s timeline while his future children, Bart and Nora, materialize in the present.
