The Good Doctor Season 4 – Cast, Premiere Date and more details!

The Good Doctor is a medical drama television series on ABC. The series is based on the South-Korean series of the same name. Daniel Dae Kim, who first noticed the original series, brought it to CBS in 2015. After being rejected by CBS, he, along with Sony Pictures Television, brought on David Shore to develop the series at ABC. Kim also serves as an executive producer on The Good Doctor, alongside David Shore, Seth Gordon, Erin Gunn, David Kim, Sebastian Lee, Mike Listo, and Thomas L. Moran. Since its debut in September 2017, three seasons of The Good Doctor have aired on ABC. The series was renewed for a fourth season in February 2020.

The Good Doctor follows Shaun Murphy, a young autistic surgeon with savant syndrome from the mid-size city of Casper, Wyoming, where he had a troubled past. He relocates to San Jose, California, to work at the prestigious San Jose St. Bonaventure Hospital.

Cast of The Good Doctor Season 4

The main cast on season 4 of The Good Doctor includes Freddie Highmore as Dr. Shaun Murphy; Antonia Thomas as Dr. Claire Brown; Hill Harper as Dr. Marcus Andrews; Richard Schiff as Dr. Aaron Glassman; Christina Chang as Dr. Audrey Lim; Paige Spara as Lea Dilallo; Will Yun Lee as Dr. Alex Park; and Fiona Gubelmann as Dr. Morgan Reznick. 

Not joining the cast in season 4 of The Good Doctor will be Nicholas Gonzalez and Jasika Nicole. At the end of season 3, Gonzalez’s character, Dr. Neil Melendez, dies in the finale; and Jasika Nicole’s character, Dr. Carly Lever, decides to leave.

Addressing the rumours that Will Yun Lee and Fiona Gubelmann will be leaving the series, showrunner David Shore denied them, saying this-

“Look, I don’t think Dr. Park is going to be leaving. I don’t think Dr. Morgan’s going to be leaving. But there are going to be changes for those characters as a result of things that have happened to them and the experiences they’ve had — in her case a physical change, in his case an emotional change. But there will be changes for both of them.”

New cast members on season 4 of The Good Doctor include Noah Galvin, Summer Brown, Bria Samoné Henderson, and Brian Marc. They have been cast in recurring roles for season 4, as first-year residents who will be vying for one or more resident positions at St. Bonaventure Hospital.

Premiere Date of The Good Doctor Season 4

The filming for season 4 of The Good Doctor was initially supposed to begin in August 2020, but was postponed to September. On September 29, 2020, a teaser for season 4 was released. The season will be showcasing the COVID-19 pandemic in its two-part season premiere.

Season 4 of The Good Doctor is scheduled to premiere on November 2, 2020 on ABC.
