With Gilead’s influence creeping into Canada, Serena, the widow, tries to shape her profile in Toronto. Forming an ally with Aunt Lydia, Commander Lawrence is attempting to reform Gilead in order to rise in power. While holding their grounds tight in their mission to save Hannah and reunite with her, Luke, Moira, and June are fighting Gilead keeping a distance.
The primary cast of The Handmaid’s Tale is retained in season 5 and includes Elisabeth Moss as June Osborne, Max Minghella as Commander Nick Blaine, Bradley Whitford as Commander Joseph Lawrence, Yvonne Strahovski as Serena Joy Waterford, Samira Wiley as Moira, Ann Dowd as Aunt Lydia, O-T Fagbenle as Luke Bankole, and Madeline Brewer as Janine. The newest inclusion for the upcoming season includes Genevieve Angelson, the New Amsterdam actress, as Mrs. Wheeler.
