The last kingdom season 5 has finally been renewed on the 7th of July, 2020 as told by its co-executive producer, Nigel Marchant.
The first 8 episodes of season one premiered on the 10th of October 2015.
As for the previous season, It was renewed by Netflix on December 26th and was released on April 26th, 2020. The Last Kingdom has been inspired by Bernard Cornwell’s “The Saxon Stories”. The British T.V series, “the last kingdom” revolves around the concept of historical fiction.

New faces are expected to be seen in addition to the old characters, including, Millie Brunn as Aetheflaed, Timothy Innes to play King Edward, Magnus Brunn as well as, Alexander Dreyman.

Releasing dates for The last kingdom :
Nothing has been officially confirmed as of yet, but speculations say that season 5 would be rolling out in the year 2021 considering it took approximately a year after the renewal of season four, for it to be released. As well as adding the time taken by the highly infectious COVID virus that has led to a major delay in shootings and other proceedings in all industries. Nigel merchant has announced the renewal of season 5 on 7th July 2020

With every season consisting of about ten episodes each, Season 4 left us in suspense, leaving us with the last episode “What’s next?” we are expecting more twists and turns in the story. Can’t wait to catch up on the legendary battle of Dane and Saxon.
