The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is an adaptation of The Lord of the Rings novel and its extensions by J. R. R. Tolkien. The fantasy TV series is a loose prequel, focussing primarily on the rich history and mythology of Middle Earth. The show is a project of J. D. Payne and Patrick McKay who are also the executive producers of the series along with Lindsey Weber, Callum Greene, J. A. The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power: Plot and Cast

The plot of the Rings of Power is set in the backdrop of thousands of years prior to the affairs of The Hobbit and the Lord of the Rings. The events in the show will take place in the timeline of the “Second Age” of Tolkien’s universe. The series will highlight Sauron’s ascension to power and also the counterfeiting of the Rings of Power, which are a gift to elves, dwarfs, and humans from the Dark Lord, who secretly controls all of them with his master ring, namely, the One Ring to Rule Them All. Additionally, the show will also focus on Galadriel’s quest to hunt down every soul involved in the murder of her brother.
