The Medium: Release Date, Gameplay and Platforms!

The Medium is a forthcoming psychological horror game that Bloober Team is developing.

Discover the dark mystery that only a medium can solve. Travel to an abandoned socialist venue, and use your extraordinary psychic abilities to discover its deeply disturbing mysteries. Solve dual-reality puzzles, escape encounters with dark ghosts, and at the same time explore two dimensions.

Release Date

No official release date has yet been announced for The Medium. Bloober Team might be preparing to release the game during the Holiday Period 2020, meaning it will arrive on or shortly after the Xbox Series X launch.

Gameplay

The Medium is one of the most promising next-generation horror games released this summer. Unveiled at Microsoft’s May Xbox Series X demonstration, and announced again at Microsoft’s July conference, this game uses next-generation technologies fascinatingly and unusually: showing two environments at once.

It’s a horror game played in the third person as Marianne, a medium who can travel to the spiritual realm. Feeling willing to enter both realms helps solve the mystery. The supernatural powers can be used against enemy entities and recharged by communicating with energy spots called spirit wells.

Wield’s special psychic powers are reserved for people with talents. Travel through worlds or discover them at the same time. Using the perspective Out of Body to explore areas that the real-world self can not go. Creates walls of energy and provides strong bursts of spirit to conquer the spirit world and its otherworldly threats.

Platforms

The Medium was first confirmed for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Wii U in 2012. It reemerged in May 2020 as the Windows and Xbox Series X titles, due to be released in the final quarter of the year.

While it’ll have to deal with other launch games, Observer: System Redux, a remaster by the same maker, will be the biggest horror rivalry. Unless Sony confirms or contradicts some ongoing rumors of Silent Hill PS5, The Medium is the most thrilling survival title of the next generation until Resident Evil 8 comes out next year.
