The Midnight Club: Release date, Cast, Plot, Trailer, and More!

A current top name in the horror genre of television and movies, Flanagan had extreme success in the past with “Gerald’s Game” and “Doctor Sleep”. Now he has a few more projects on the horizon. It includes his upcoming Netflix horror series “Midnight Mass” and a recently announced movie adaptation of the science fiction horror novel “The Season of Passage” by Christopher Pike.

His most exciting upcoming project, the adaptation of “The Midnight Club” for Netflix, based on the 1994 young adult novel, is also by Pike. It is based on a mystery thriller featuring multiple different scary stories set within the main. The show will showcase many talented directors alongside Flanagan. And there will be ten episodes total in Season 1.

The Midnight Club: Cast and Plot!

Flanagan generally likes to work with the same group of actors in many of his projects. While “The Midnight Club” is another example of this, showcasing a handful of actors from his past projects and upcoming works like “Midnight Mass,” many members of the main cast are new faces.

Based on the 1994 novel of the same name, “The Midnight Club” will tell the story of a group of terminally ill teenagers living together at a hospice-like place called Rotterdam Home. Each midnight, the group meets together, to tell scary stories to one another. During one of these horror-filled nights, the group makes a pact stating that whichever one of them dies first, they must do everything they can in the afterlife to contact them in the land of the living.

The Midnight Club started filming Season 1 in March 2021, with the director posting a photo of a clapboard for the show on March 15, 2021.
As it’s a horror series and might require some special effects and other various work in post-production, it’s hard to guess how long that process might take. Fans should probably expect to see “The Midnight Club” premiere in mid-2022.
