The Misery Index: Show Updates and Details!

The Misery Index is an American Game Show. Ben New Mark and Den Newmark created the game show with Andy Breckman based on his card game ” Shit Happens”. The show is a full package of laughter and fun you can enjoy with your friends and family! The Show originally airs on the TBS network. The senior vice president, Michael Bloom said that Andy and Newmark’s have hilariously gamified embarrassment and total misery.

The host of the show

Jameela Jamil is the host of the game show and stars the famous four The Tenderloins comedy troupe also knows as the Impractical Jokers.

What is The Misery Index all about?

The game consists of three rounds in which the contestants have to rank the miserable real-life stories. 1-100 is the scale of numeric measurement. physical pain, emotional trauma, and long-term psychological impact are three bases of the ratings. Every contestant relates their own story at the beginning of the episode and ratings of which are not revealed. The game has two teams competing against each other. Both teams consist of non-celebrity contestants and two members of The Tenderloins.

Both teams will have to guess the ratings of the crazy miserable real-life situations and try to win the prize.

3 rounds of the game

Round1: Misery Lane

the first round will have two hypothetical situations. Contestants whose team gets a higher ranking from the panel plays first. The team has to declare if their contestant’s story is above, below, or in between the given situation. The correct choice wins $5oo.

Round 2: More or less Miserable

The team which did not start round 1 plays first. Each team gets to rate similar stories. The highest gets an award of $1000.

Round 3: Margin of Misery

One miserable story is ranked by both the teams secretly on the rating index. The closer rating of any of the teams will get them to the bonus round. The reward for this round is $2000.

The show currently aired on TBS at 9:30 pm.  New Season 3 will be released on January 26, 2021.
