The Moodys is a comedy television series on Fox. The series is based on the Australian television show of the same name. The Moodys is co-created and written by Rob Greenberg, Bob Fisher and Tad Quill. The first season of The Moodys premiered on Fox on December 4, 2019. The season featured six episodes, with two half-hour episodes airing back-to-back for three weeks.

“A tight-knit, but slightly dysfunctional family of five, all of whom gather in their hometown of Chicago for the “perfect” holiday. From break-ups to arrests to sharing one bathroom, each family member is packing his/her own eccentricities and hiding secrets from the others – as if the holidays were all about carols and eggnog!”
The main cast of The Moodys stars Denis Leary as Sean Moody Sr., Elizabeth Perkins as Ann Moody, Francois Arnaud as Dan Moody, Chelsea Frei as Bridget Moody, and Jay Baruchel as Sean Moody Jr. Recurring cast members on The Moodys include Maria Gabriela de Faria as Cora, Josh Segarra as Marco, Kevin Bigley as Monty, Megan Park as Ali, Gerry Dee and Ulka Simone Mohanty.
The Moodys Season 2 – Recent Updates
The first season of The Moodys had an average rating of 0.48 in the 18-49 category. The average number of viewers across the six-episode first season of The Moodys was 1.92 million. The Moodys was primarily a Christmas show, airing during the festive season in the month of December. Fox’s Entertainment President, Michael Thorn, said this in a statement-
“With The Moodys, we set out to brand the holidays in the only way Fox can – bold and unconventional. What we ended up with was a special show – and a family – everyone at the network fell in love with… Eric and Kim Tannenbaum and CBS Television Studios have been great partners on this series; and, simply put, we’re looking forward to the Moodys’ future adventures.”
The Moodys was renewed for a second season in July, 2020. The second season will be a regular season, instead of a holiday special season. It is expected to premiere in Fox’s 2020-21 schedule.
