The Morning Show premiered on 1st November 2019 on Apple TV+. It is an American drama television series and it is inspired by the book “Top of the Morning: Inside the Cutthroat World of Morning TV” written by Brian Stelter. The lead cast of the series includes Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell. The series was renewed for a second season in January 2021. The show has a 61% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes and has been a recipient of many awards which includes Critics’ Choice Television Awards, Newport Beach Film Festival, Online Film & Television Association, Primetime Emmy Awards, The ReFrame Setup, Screen Actors Guild Awards and more.

The Morning Show is a newsroom drama that follows the aftermath of a popular anchor’s firing after he is accused of sexual misconduct. His place is filled by a young reporter with a fresh perspective and his former co-anchor adjusts to the changes and also staying relevant in the industry where the men in charge believe that her time is running out.

Release Date of The Morning Show Season 2

Showrunner Kerry Ehrin said that Season 2 was supposed to premiere in November 2020. The production of Season 2 was paused because of the Covid-19 pandemic and resumed on 19th October. Jennifer Aniston has also shared a sneak peek at production in January 2021 and posted behind-the-scenes selfies from her trailer. Till now, the makers have not revealed the release date of The Morning Show Season 2.

Cast of The Morning Show Season 2

Steve Carell was signed on a one year contract and producers were clear that they wanted him back. Ehrin has also expressed hopes to bring Steve back in Season 2. Gugu Mbatha-Raw said that she will not return because of the reasons related to her storyline. Apart from that, Billy Crudup, Mark Duplass, Nestor Carbonell, Bel Powley, Karen Pittman and Desean Terry.

Witherspoon said that the world of possibilities that lie ahead after the finale of Season 1. Ehrin said that Season 2 is all about transition. She said that the show just like the workplaces would make changes following the sexual misconduct case. It has been reported that the second season is being rewritten for including the pandemic.
