The most exciting games for those people who love the winter atmosphere

Here comes the first official month of winter – December! Naturally, now we will want to go out more and more rarely. And there is only one wish; you want to throw a warm plaid sitting in front of the screen, drinking some hot drink. But to plunge into the winter atmosphere nevertheless want to, especially if the winter is in the yard and no one. To your attention, we present several games that would adequately set your mood for this cold period or brighten up the anticipation before the Christmas holidays.
It’s nice to sit at home by the fireplace when it’s cold outside, and there’s nowhere to go, as Frank Sinatra sang. Of course, it is unlikely that everyone can take his advice, but on the other hand, in Sinatra’s time, people still needed to learn about video games. That’s why we have compiled a list of the best games with a winter atmosphere that will give you the same pleasure. If you are a fan of gambling, then we hasten to please play 3 patti game online; that also, in some versions, has a winter theme.
For a start, games that are worthy of mention
-
Horizon Zero Dawn has won many awards, and it’s easy to see why. Its supplement, The Frozen Wilds, deserves a place on this list, not only for extending the beauty and scope of the main game with impressive winter landscapes but also for its 10-20 hour playthrough; it’s a great game in its own right.
-
Until Dawn is a teen horror game, but much more scary than funny. It’s a quest, but it’s creepy and dynamic. There are supernatural horrors here, but they don’t eliminate the possibility that other people will kill you.
-
Batman: Arkham Origins is not the best game in the Arkham series, but it’s one of the best games with a winter atmosphere. It is one of the best games in the Arkham Origins series, but it is undoubtedly one of a kind. And while everyday people sit around fireplaces with warming coffee in their hands and tell children fairy tales, the young but very evil Batman does his job of putting down the rampaging criminals and supervillains.
Max Payne
The plot of this 2001 hit centers on former New York detective Max Payne as he tries to solve the gruesome murder of his wife and daughter related to a case of a new drug called Valkyrie. Unfortunately, during his investigation, Max becomes embroiled in a much larger and more complex conspiracy involving the military.
The game is set in a bleak neo-noir New York winter, and instead of animated videos, the story is told in comic books with voiceover. In addition to the wintry setting, the game borrows a lot from Nordic mythology, particularly the myth of Ragnarok. In addition, some names and titles are borrowed from Scandinavian gods and heroes.
The Long Dark
The Long Dark can be loved and hated at the same time. It doesn’t revel in misery or require ongoing training and perfect muscle memory like Bloodborne or Super Meat Boy, nor does it have the characteristic randomness of a true roguelike. But the darkness hides a quiet schadenfreude, and an invisible hand tweaks the balance just a little bit to make it just a little bit out of our favor.
There is food, firewood, and shelter in the frozen wilds of Canada, but going in search of them is a risk. And that risk will always follow you before every step and decision.
The game is brilliant: it always seems perfectly balanced, even though it relies heavily on the random generation of valuable trophy locations. You may know the map and prefer specific strategies, but every scenario is unique and not without its share of uncertainty and randomness. Still, every time it feels like everything was done by the sneaky creators specifically for you and to test your stamina.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Skyrim may not be the best RPG ever made. It’s not even the best game in the Elder Scrolls series. But this game is fantastic in many ways, from the incredible sight of dragons to the scale and scope of the story and the intricacies it creates. “Go Your Way” can be found in many games, from Deus Ex to Telltale’s adventures, but few allow you to make decisions as meaningful and get as much into the character you create as Skyrim.
You’ll never create the perfect character or get the ideal walkthrough here, but it’s all part of the charm of Skyrim. The surface is an extension of your personality, allowing you to live in a beautiful fantasy world, feeling a stronger connection to your digital avatar than in most other games. For an authentic taste of winter, try playing Skyrim on PC with a survival mod like the Long Dark/Skyrim combo.
And – going back to the winter theme – Skyrim has a great setting. It’s a great dramatic setting for a great dramatic game. And the ability to play almost anywhere – the game even came out on Nintendo Switch – extol its merits even more.
Resident Evil Village
Resident Evil Village offers a winter vacation in a village somewhere in Eastern Europe. And everything would be fine, but only the town’s residents were almost all dead or ran away, and those who didn’t have time – roamed around in the guise of werewolves and ghouls. And nearby is a grim castle ruled by mysterious mistresses – it will have to lead the main character to restore order here.
It is worth mentioning that the winter atmosphere in Resident Evil Village is portrayed very reliably: looking at the snow-covered village and other locations makes you feel cold.
Project Winter
Project Winter is a game in the “social deduction” genre that involves disguising yourself in full view of your opponents. The eight survivors find themselves alone in the harsh winter nature. In order not to die from hypothermia, starvation, and the teeth of predators, players must band together and work together: gather resources, obtain food, and craft weapons. However, there is a catch: some characters are traitors who will do everything possible to fail the mission without giving themselves away.
Project winter’s snow-covered terrain creates an atmosphere of survival and affects gameplay. It’s impossible not to shiver from the cold when your alter ego in the game runs, falling through the snow from a ferocious wolf, or trying to keep warm by liquid fire.
