THE NEIGHBOR

Created by Miguel Esteban and Raúl Navarro based on the comic series El Vecino by Santiago García and Pepo Pérez, “The Neighbor” is a Spanish superhero comedy streaming television series starring Quim Gutiérrez, Clara Lago, Adrián Pino, and Catalina Sopelana, the first season of which premiered on December 31, 2019, on Netflix.

The series is developed by Nacho Vigalondo, who is best known for ‘Colossal’ and ‘Timecrimes’.

PREMISE:

Jose Ramon lives an ordinary life studying all day but everything changes when he discovers that his neighbor Javier, a handsome journalist, is in fact the famous superhero Titan. But having superpowers doesn’t make Javier a good person: Javier/Titan is a mess as he refuses to grow up and take responsibility for his actions.

Together the two neighbors and now friends navigate what means to be an adult while fighting supervillains, although in the end the only people they should save are themselves.

SEASON 2 DETAILS:

Season two and the final season of the series premiered on Friday, May 21, 2021, on Netflix.

Just when Javi thinks he’s conquered being Earth’s superhero, challenges arise from an unlikely competitor … and some extraterrestrial visitors.

Javier, Lola, JR and Julia meets a very special character: a mysterious official (Javier Botet), who appears in the neighbourhood to find the true Guardian. Meanwhile, Madrid is running up as a candidate for the Olympic games and the Mayor will do everything possible to win them, including using a famous actor to pretend to be Titán and take advantage of his commercial pull.
